Roidmi X30 Pro Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
The newly launched Roidmi X30 Pro Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is a top of the line vacuum cleaner in the not-Dyson category. Impressively feature packed and promising improved battery life and stronger suction, the X30 Pro comes in a sleek matte silver-grey finish, a departure from most other products in the Xiaomi ecosystem.
The Roidmi X30 Pro does not come cheap. At $599, it is definitely one of the pricier options on the market, even when compared to the two other cordless stick vacuum cleaners we reviewed, the Airbot Hypersonics and the Dibea F20 Max, that are both cost around $200. That said, it's still half the price of a top of the line Dyson V11.
The Roidmi X30 Pro makes up for its price by building in a number of additional features and including a wide variety of attachments out of the box. Our order even came with a free Roidmi Portable Cordless Vacuum Cleaner that we will discuss later.
In comparing the official technical specifications, the Roidmi X30 Pro comes out top comfortably against the Airbox Hypersonics and Dibea F20 MAX on paper, with comparable vacuum power, superior RPM for the motor, a larger battery, longer runtime and faster charging time. While we are unable to test for and verify the first few parameters, we were able to test some of the other specifications.
The Roidmi weighed in at 2.6kg, slightly less than the official 2.7kg. This was heavier than the Airbot and Dibea which both weighed in at 2.2kg. We suspect the official reported 1.5kg weight of the Airbot Hypersonics was measured without the wind tube and attachment.
RUNTIME, CHARGING & DOCKING
We set all three vacuum cleaners to run on their highest settings. From a full charge, the Roidmi X30 Pro ran for 12 mins before it ran out of juice, putting it in between the Dibea F20 MAX which ran for 10 mins and the Airbot Hypersonics which ran for an impressive 15 mins. On the lowest settings, all three vacuum cleaners ran close to their official reported runtime.
After running the X30 Pro's battery dry, we charged it using the included magnetic charging dock. The magnet of the dock is strong, and together with the grooved design, helps to keep the vacuum cleaner in place. We liked the magnetic charging which eliminates the need for wires, making the Roidmi X30 Pro truly cordless. However, we were disappointed that Roidmi did not include an organiser/mount for the attachments together with the charging dock, something that came with other vacuum cleaners such as the Airbot Hypersonics.
While Roidmi claimed a 2.5 hours charging time, we found that it took us almost 3.5 hours to get a full charge. However, we did unplug the Roidmi X30 Pro several times to run several smaller tests. Hence, we estimate the actual charging time to be closer 3 hours. This is still at least an hour quicker than the two other vacuum cleaners that we tested.
If you prefer not the use the magnetic charging dock, Roidmi gives you the option of plugging the charging cable directly into a charging port on the body of the vacuum cleaner.
In our tests, we recorded the noise generated by the Roidmi X30 Pro at 68dB on low and 75dB on high. This was close to the noise generated by the Airbot Hypersonics at 70dB (low) and 75dB (high). However, the Dibea F20 MAX was significantly louder, recording at 72dB on low and close to 80dB on high.
While the Roidmi X30 Pro generated similar decibel levels as the Airbot Hypersonics, it felt much quieter in practice. We suspect this could be due to the fact that the Roidmi X30 Pro produced a sound that sounder less harsh as compared to the two other vacuum cleaners. The official product description on the website included a note detailing the use of noise reduction brushless motor and air duct optimisation to eliminate harsh noise.
A good filtration system is especially important for the stick vacuum cleaner. In traditional canister vacuum cleaners, the exhaust is usually a distance away from the user. A weak filtration system in a canister system, while annoying, does not pose much of a health hazard to the user. In a stick or upright system where the exhaust is much closer to the user's face, a weak filtration system can potentially direct harmful germs and bacteria towards the user.
We were happy to see that Roidmi put in extra effort to develop a a six-stage filtration and two-stage anti-bacterial system in the X30 Pro, ensuring that the air that comes out of the exhaust is free of dust and germs. We also liked the fact that Roidmi informs the user the estimated lifespan of the HEPA filter by tracking the usage through the mobile application. Roidmi also included a spare HEPA filter in the package, something that few other manufacturers do.
FUNCTIONS & USABILITY
The Roidmi X30 Pro comes with three different power settings, which we feel is more than sufficient, although some other vacuum cleaners such as the Airbot Hypersonics come with five power settings and auto detection and switching of power (read our review of the Airbot Hypersonics for more information).
There are two physical buttons on the Roidmi X30 Pro, a power button and a separate button to cycle between the three modes. The power button on the X30 Pro has a strange little quirk. There is a slight delay of half a second for the vacuum cleaner to turn on after pressing the power button, which we found to be present in all three vacuum cleaners we tested. However, in order to turn the power off on the Roidmi X30 Pro, we needed to hold on to the power button for a second before the power turns off. It's strange, and we are unsure if our unit was defective, but we got used to it after a few uses.
An OLED screen on the body of the X30 Pro displays the battery life and power mode in full colour. The mode indication turns from blue to green to red as you go from low to high power. The battery indicator is also shown on the same screen. While the screen shows the percentage of battery remaining by default, we found that you can change the percentage indicator to minutes remaining using the mobile application. We thought that minutes remaining was much more useful than percentage battery life, and wonder why Roidmi did not make that the default instead.

We also discovered several nice touches included by the designers of the Roidmi X30 Pro. When you turn off the vacuum cleaner, the OLED screen shows you the calories you burned while using the vacuum cleaner. Additionally, the orientation of the OLED screen faces the user while in use, and flips around while charging, allowing the user to always read the screen right side up.

Roidmi allows you to connect the X30 Pro to a mobile application. We initally thought that we could use the Xiaomi Home application as Roidmi falls under the Xiaomi umbrella of brands. However, we were disappointed to find that the Roidmi X30 Pro is only available on a dedicated Roidmi application.
Upon downloading the application, adding and connecting the devices was straightforward via Bluetooth. The application shows the current battery life, standby time and remaining life of the HEPA filter. It also tracks your cumulative cleaning time and cleaning area. You are also able to upgrade the firmware, change the OLED screen display (percentage battery life or minutes remaining), screen on duration and screen brightness among others.

Roidmi included a good number of attachments. Other than the standard floor brush roller, included with the Roidmi X30 Pro was a Crevice Tool, Soft Brush, Mattress Brush, Pet Brush, Extension Hose, Water Tank Module and a cleaning brush. Roidmi also generously threw in a spare mop cloth for the water tank module and a spare HEPA filter.
The standard brush roller on the Roidmi X30 Pro is an electric brush that spins using the battery power even when the vacuum cleaner is stationary. Powered brushes are great for carpeted areas as the spinning power kicks up dust and debris, allowing the vacuum cleaner to suck up more dust and debris. All three vacuum cleaners that we tested comes with a electric powered brush roller. The roller brush itself comes in a v-shaped design which Roidmi claims is capable of picking up more dust and is less prone to hair entanglement.
The standard brush roller on the X30 Pro also comes with an innovative LED light with light sensor. The light is off by default, and turns on when it detects that it is used in a dark area, allowing you to see inside dark corners or under sofas and beds. The standard brush roller on the Dibea F20 MAX also comes with an LED light. However, the LED light on the Dibea F20 MAX lacks a sensor and is constantly on.
The Roidmi X30 Pro comes with a crevice tool which is pretty standard on all vacuum cleaners these days. It also comes with a soft brush that can be attached to the crevice tool to improve the usability. A mattress brush, which looks similar to the standard brush roller but smaller, is also included. The mattress brush is also electric powered, allowing you to kick up and suck up more dust mites and debris.

A pet brush is included together with a flexible hose. The pet brush comes with semi-rigid bristles, much like a normal pet comb. The pet brush also comes with a moving piece allowing you to remove hair from the brush easily, a feature found in many higher end pet brushes. However, it would take an exceptionally calm cat or dog to allow you to use the pet brush on, considering the loud noise the vacuum cleaner itself generates. For the record, our cat refused to let us go anywhere near him with the Roidmi X30 Pro.
The water tank module attaches to the back of the standard brush roller magnetically. Using the same drip technology found in many other electric mops and vacuum cleaners, the water from the water tank slowly drips onto the mop cloth, regulating the amount of water released. Being attached to the back of the brush roller instead of being an entirely separate attachment has its pros and cons. Working together with the brush roller ensures that dust and debris are sucked up before the wet mop comes into contact with the surface. However, this would also mean that any liquid on the surface would be sucked into the vacuum cleaner. Hence, the water tank and mop module should only be used to mop dry surfaces, and should not be used to clean up spills.

A small cleaning brush is also included in the package. The cleaning brush can be used to clean out the nooks and crannies in the vacuum cleaner. The brush also comes with a shielded blade at the end, handy for cutting out any hair wrapped around the roller brushes.
As mentioned earlier, our order also came with a free Roidmi Portable Cordless Vacuum Cleaner. Similar to the X30 Pro itself, the power button on the portable vacuum cleaner has its own unique quirk. To turn on the device, the power button must be held for 1.5 seconds, and we struggled to turn it on initially before figuring it out. A small LED light turns on together with the vacuum cleaner, allowing you to see inside and clean up dark corners. This portable vacuum is perhaps best for cleaning the interior of cars. Smaller in size and less loud than the X30 Pro, you might even want to try using this portable vacuum cleaner to clean your cat or dog instead.
The Roidmi X30 Pro Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is one impressive machine. With strong suction, impressive battery life and a variety of quality attachments included, it is without a doubt the best vacuum cleaner out of the three that we tested. We were however disappointed with the lack of an organiser or mounts for the included accessories. We also wished that it included the innovative smart auto speed changing mode that was included in the Airbot Hypersonics.
That said, if you are looking for the power and all the bells and whistles of a top of the line Dyson but is unwilling to dish out over $1000 for a vacuum cleaner, the Roidmi X30 Pro is a more than capable alternative at half the price. With its modern and sleek matte space gray finish, it definitely looks the part too.
The Roidmi X30 Pro Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is available from online platforms such as Lazada and Shopee for $599 at the time of writing.
